Springfield, TN - Betty Jane Woody Colwell, 64, of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 12th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Blake Colwell, Clint Woody, Brad Woody, Keith Warnecke, Ubi Arango, and Alan Atkins serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.


Betty was born June 1, 1961, in Springfield, to the late Ranel David and Nancy Jane Brooksher Woody. She was a graduate of Jo Byrns High School Class of 1980. Betty was a retired embroider from Rainbow Designs and was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and cooking, especially making chocolate pies with her Grandmother Woody's recipe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Steve Woody.


Betty is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bill Colwell of Springfield, by her son, Davy Colwell of Adams; by her grandchildren: Haley and Blake Colwell; by her brother and sisters-in-law: Troy and Sheila Woody of Springfield, Kathleen Woody of Springfield, and Kathy (Keith) Warnecke of Hebron, KY; by her sister, Lynn Atkins of Springfield; and by her bonus daughter. Amanda Lynn Atkins of Springfield.


Services have been entrusted to Robertson County Funeral Home.
