Charlene Finney Obituary

Springfield, Tennessee - Charlene Finney was born August 8, 1950, to the late Rosie Bellamy Page and James Finney in Cleveland, Ohio. Her earthly life ended on September 12, 2025, in Springfield, Tennessee.

At a young age she and her family moved to Olmstead, Kentucky where she graduated high school.


She continued her education at Meharry Medical College and received her certification in X-ray Technology.


Charlene enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1975 and served for three years including a tour in Germany.


She worked at Vanderbilt Medical Center as a Research Assistant in the Nephrology Dept. She worked there for 30 years.


Charlene was a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. Charlene never met a stranger. She was fun, loving, and adventurous. She loved to travel and she loved music. She was a great cook and a self-proclaimed foodie. She loved her dog, Gizmo.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Julius Page, and sister, Henrietta Woodson.


She leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Elizabeth Stewart-Babb; nieces, Felicia Stewart, Regina (Elgin) Bailey, Stephanie Stewart, Teresa Woodson, Vanessa Woodson; nephews, Henry Woodson; brother-in-law, John Scott Woodson; a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends, including her Vanderbilt family.


Visitation with the family and Memorial Service was Saturday, September 20, 2025 at W. D. Crowder Funeral Home.
