Springfield, Tennessee - Gary Eugene Summers was born March 11, 1956 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late James and Mattie Washington Summers. He departed his earthly home on August 21, 2025.


He attended Robertson County Schools. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. Gary was in the military serving his country.


Gary worked for Overnight which later became U.P.S. for 32 years. He retired from U.P.S. in 2009.


Gary was a very friendly and outgoing person. He enjoyed feeding people and seeing them eat. He was a man who would do whatever he could to help somebody.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Debra Summers, Christine Jones and Cynthia Turnley.


Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Nina Summers; loving children, Stacy (Antarrian) Gunn, Katina (Phil) Jones, and Corenthus Cantrell; grandchildren, Latania, Kevin, Tai, Ariel, Lacresha and Tavian; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.


Viewing and Visitation were Wednesday, August 27, 2025 At W. D. Crowder Funeral Home.


W. D. Crowder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
