Springfield, Tennessee - James Lois Miles was born October 20, 1947 in Keysburg, Kentucky to the late Annie Mae Ross and James Gardner, Jr.
She was educated in the Robertson Country School System. She retired from Professional Bags and Burger King. She spent her days after retirement
surrounded by her family and close friends. She was an active member of St. Matthews Holy Missionary Baptist Church until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death, along with her parents, her six siblings, Gladys Bradley, Barbara Ann Gardner, Fanny Gardner, RosaLee Gardner, Julia Baker, and Joe Scott; her daughter, Veronica Miles; grandson, Shawnise Leavell; son-in-law, Robert Williams.
On November 16, 2025, James Lois departed this earthly life, leaving to cherish her loving memory: sons, Marvin (Maeanda) Miles, Fernando (Carolyn) Miles both of Springfield, TN, Joseph (Tina) Miles of Nashville, TN and Jason (Sandra) Mitchell of Russellville, KY; daughter-in-law and close friend, Stephanie Stanten of Springfield, TN; devoted grandchild, Dishecca Miles; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Mona Brown; brother, Joel Gardner; special relationship with nephew, William Jones; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Stella Northington, LaKeesha Chatman, Leanna Knight, Natasha Upton, Clara Nibblett and Tyrone Pennington; and a host of other family and friends.
Viewing, Visitaton, and Funeral were Saturday, November 22, 2025, 2:00 pm at St. Matthew Holy Missionary Baptist Church with Minister Ferlandra Taylor, Eulogy; Bishop Willie Hamilton, Officiant. Interment in Restlawn Memorial Garden. W. D. Crowder Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
