Springfield, Tennessee - Jessie Pennington was born on June 24, 1933 in Cross Plains, Tennessee to the late Mr. Radar McKissick and the late Anna Chatman, who raised her with love, strength, and unwavering support.
From a young age, she displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a natural ability to bring joy to those around her. Whether it was her infectious laughter, her caring nature, or her ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, she was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She attended the Robertson County School System, where she built lifelong friendships. A hardworking and ambitious individual, she pursued a career in manufacturing at Bruce's Lumber Company for 33 years, where her dedication and passion lasted until she retired. After retirement she began working for Bransford Elementary School as a cafeteria clerk where she left a lasting impact on colleagues. She was deeply committed to her work, always striving to make a difference and leave a positive mark on the those around her.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jessie Pennington was a woman of many passions. She found joy in cooking specializing in broccoli and cheese casserole, sweet potatoes and chess squares just to name a few. She enjoyed planting flowers, participating in arts and crafts at the Senior Citizen Building, traveling to Gatlinburg on vacations and more.
She was a devoted member of the CFF St. John United Methodist Church and Banks Chapel for 50 years, she enjoyed being around her church family, being a member of the choir, communion stewardess and dedicated custodian.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert E. Pennington; her brother, Robert McKissick; her sisters, Mary McKissick, Lorene Brooks-Mitchell, and Rachel B. Burr; and her nephews, Buise McKissick, Dexter and Donnie Burr whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed her with open arms.
Though the pain of her loss is overwhelming, we find solace in the memories she left behind. More than anything, Jessie Pennington was devoted to her family and friends. She cherished her relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed her.
