Springfield, TN - Mary Josephine Huddleston, age 76, of Springfield, TN passed away on January 3, 2026, after a number of medical complications. Born on July 22, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee, Mary was known for her strong-willed and witty personality, with a massive love for her pets.
When she was able, in her free time she enjoyed baking and crocheting beautiful Afghan blankets and doilies. Retail therapy was another pastime of hers, where she enjoyed shopping, bringing home treasures that spoke to her unique sense of style.
Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Ray Huddleston, parents Michael and Lydia Kennedy, brother Michael Joseph Kennedy Jr., and grandson Shae Lynn Whitefield. She is survived by her son, Terry Wayne Whitefield, daughter Donna Faye (Johnny) Huddleston-Hansel, son Danny Ray Huddleston, and daughter Lucy Ann Brooks-Malone. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Amanda Raye Thornton, Samantha (Marcus) Spicer, Kasey Craig, A'leigha Danielle Huddleston, and Charlsey Raye (Dakota) Hogan; great-grandchildren: Tanner Huddleston Pence, Wrenly Raye Hogan, Brooks Thomas Hogan. Mary also leaves behind her sister Nora (John) Teems, sister-in-law Sue Kennedy, and nephew Kurt Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services located at 127 N. Main St, Goodlettsville, Tennessee 37072. Phone: (615) 859-5231. Visitation will take place on January 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, followed by a second visitation on January 8, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, with our funeral service starting promptly at 2pm. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens following the funeral services.
