Springfield, Tennessee - Robert Cecil Wright, age 71, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at Waters Nursing Home in Springfield, TN. Born on January 26, 1954, in Cedar Hill, Tennessee, Robert was a beloved brother, partner, and friend. He was known for his quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family.
Robert attended the Leota Street Church of God. He was educated in the Robertson County Schools, attending Jo Byrns High School. Robert was employed with Unarco and was also a laborer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James S. Ellis and Roberta L. Wright-Ellis; siblings, Stella Louise Wright, James L. Ellis, James Ray Wright, Michael Sanders Wright, Lizzie Mae (Leon) Neblett, and Fannie Bowens.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories: devoted significant other, Wendy Williams, and his cherished stepdaughter, Jamaica Townsend. He also leaves behind his loving siblings: Delores (Jessie) McFadden of Rochester, NY, Clifford (Rochelle) Wright of Springfield, TN, Sylvia Wright of Springfield ,TN, Brenda Wright of Madison, TN, Peggy Williams of Springfield, TN, and Grace Ellis, Springfield, TN;
brother-in-law, Garfield Bowens of Springfield, TN; special nieces, Erica Renee Neblett, Sharon (Harvey) Coombs and Katrina Scott; dear to his heart, special great-nephews whom he called "Turkey" and "Ole Meanie"; and host of other family and friends.
Robert's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
